Plants and Animals

"Plants & Animals of Sligo". Friends of Sligo Creek. Retrieved 29 January 2019. I think a section on the habitat of SC would be a help. --evrik (talk) 20:17, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Slegoe

[edit]

This claim:

NOTE: "SLEGOE" was the name of a part of the tract of land titled "Charles and William" lying in the encompassed area that became the Village of SLIGO, owned by the BEALL, BADEN and CLARK families. First mention of and identified as "SLEGOE" is found in 17th and 18th century Land Records recorded in Prince George's County and later, Montgomery County, Maryland.

was added in 2022 as the only contribution by an IP editor. I'm not finding anything to back it up in an admittedly brief search. Wouldn't be surprised if it's bunk, but I can't say for certain. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 00:52, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deeper look is finding a few "Slegoe"s in old Maryland probate documents that match up with the location (Michael Youri, 1730; Henry Clarke, 1746), but it would be best to have a WP:RS for this before readding. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 01:15, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
