[edit]Although you do not have an article called "Talk:Sleeping Dogs (film)", you do have an article called "Sleeping Dogs (film)". Within the currently submitted information is the statement, "it is notable for being the first feature-length 35 mm film produced entirely in New Zealand". This is not correct. The Library of Congress' definition of a 35mm feature film, produced prior to 1977, is one least 4000' in length. The first such film produced entirely in New Zealand was the 1922 film, 'The Birth of New Zealand'. Between that film and 'Sleeping Dogs', there were some 26 feature films produced entirely in New Zealand. Also in your current information on 'Sleeping Dogs', there is the statement, "it was also the first feature film to be produced in New Zealand since 1962". That also is incorrect in that three other 35mm feature films were produced during that time span, 'Runaway'(1964), 'Don't Let It Get You' (1966) and 'Games '74: Official Film of the Xth British Commonwealth Games'(1974).

- I was also surprised at the statement about being the first feature film in NZ but then I read "produced entirely in New Zealand". I will tag it for further clarification. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 11:11, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Good idea, I believe the first feature films made in NZ were by Rudell Hayward. Whether they qualify as full length I am not sure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.198.145.187 (talk) 01:02, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
