Terminator
[edit]Did anyone else notice the terminator homages LizzieHarrison 18:26, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Such as? I suppose one could see the morphing of a limb into a stabbing blade as owing something to a similar incident in T2. This kind of thing is difficult territory for Wikipedia because if we compared it to Terminator it would be original research. If a TV reviewer did so that would be a verifiable case of a reviewer identifying the similarity. --Tony Sidaway 18:33, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I thought it would be something like that. Just chacking it was not just me. Where could I find such a review? LizzieHarrison 19:03, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
If I were trying to find reviews of the program, I would search on newspaper sites like timesonline.co.uk, guardian.co.uk, and telegraph.co.uk, which post regular TV reviews by good professional critics.
See for instance:
- Telegraph TV review for last week's Torchwood episode
- Times TV review of last week's Torchwood episode
- Guardian TV review for this week's episode
I found those by going to the websites and using the search engines and navigation tools.
Sadly the one review of this week's episode, Sleeper, (in the Guardian) didn't mention any similarities to the Terminator films. --Tony Sidaway 19:27, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually I got the Guardian wrong. That wasn't a review but a brief "interesting things to watch" column. The TV reviews are at http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/jan/17/television.tvandradioarts and http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/jan/24/television.tvandradioarts but sadly, though both are very well written neither discusses Torchwood. --Tony Sidaway 19:38, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Regarding the continuity section, from what I hear (I am using a 720P BBC HD rip), the report on the website is correct. Suggest revising? 76.31.236.38 (talk) 23:00, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
What does this mean?
[edit]What does this mean?
- Because of the 2007 Glasgow International Airport attack, the explosion that was scheduled to be filmed on the next day was announced on local radio
The reference given is a Torchwood Declassified, a TV program and not a written document, so it's important to be clear about what we mean if we cite it. --Tony Sidaway 03:26, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've clarified the section. — Edokter • Talk • 12:45, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
