Not offensive

[edit]

Do we have a source that says it isn't offensive in Greek? - Francis Tyers · 22:35, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice try. The context in which it is used shows how one intends it to be. Terms such as Slavic Macedonian and Macedonian Slav are Slavos Makedonas or Makedonas Slavos and both sound ridiculous. Greek uses compounds for such words (compare with Greek American which is Ellinoamerikanos or Greek Australian which is Ellinoaustralos if you want). Slavomakedonas is the translation of the English term "Macedonian Slav", which is not offensive (or it wouldn't be used in Britannica and Encarta). //Dirak 14:18, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
