Madison Scouts - noteworthy?
[edit]I can't see how this is worth including. It's a pretty famous piece of music, and listing every time it's been played by anyone anywhere is ridiculous. I'd argue that the MINIMUM criterion for listing would be a group at least as well-known as the Boston Pops as part of a televised concert (not on some "local access" channel, either) or professionally released album. 68.105.71.75 (talk) 19:14, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
dance version from Broadway
[edit]This article is not about the song to begin with.
It is about the dance number from the Rogers and Hart musical, which was revived in 1983 and for which the Russian ballerina Natalia Makarova won the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical (specifically for the dance number).
She also won the Theatre World Award and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. The show won the Tony for Best Reproduction and the Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Revival, for Outstanding Director of a Musical and for Outstanding Orchestrations.
The dance is in the rep. of major ballet companies, danced by their principal dancers, and I agree that the Madison Scouts have little if anything to do with this article. — Robert Greer (talk) 21:18, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
What's the point of this isolated cast listing?
[edit]What's the point of cast lists from a these particular 2009 production of this 75-year old ballet? What makes these particular casts, as opposed to say the first 1968 NYCB production, or any of the previous productions by other companies? The article doesn't even mention that the 2009 productions are anything special, leading the reader to simply scratch their heads wondering what the notability of the 2009 production is to warrant such coverage? I note my edit was reverted with the comment "this was extensively discussed and resolved by admins"; (a) where was said discussion (not on this talk page, as far as I can tell); (b) who cares whether it was discussed and resolved by admins - admins don't determine content or policy, editors in consensus do. --jpgordon::==( o ) 20:21, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- The point is that User:Robertgreer has done this with hundreds of articles. I'm actually curious where it was "extensively discussed by admins". But I went ahead and deleted it again because it's absolutely pointless, not to mention messy, especially in THIS article where it's not even a 'normal' ballet but something as part of a larger production originally. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 17:04, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
