Notability?

[edit]

Come on, this is the first full-length play by an important, Tony-winning playwright. And Wikipedia has an article about every single Pokemon card. You be the judge, at least if you are a literate adult. 72.104.149.253 (talk) 14:12, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see that an editor had deleted the "notability" template (not me). Just to add a thought about this issue. The general notability guidelines are "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." (at WP:GNG) I think this play has received significant coverage ; "significant" is a bit open to interpretation, but more than two reviews, perhaps. The article has reviews by: The New York Times, Variety Magazine and CurtainUp - I think that these are reliable sources by Wikipedia guidelines. The article has a listing at the Internet Off-Broadway Database (also known as "lortel.org"). Thus, the article has reliable sources that are independent of the source (namely, nothing by the playwright or the producer of the play). I might add the the playwright, David Auburn, won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Proof, so he I think is a notable and significant person in the field of playwriting. (I was not able to find any guidelines specifically for stage plays/musicals.) I believe that this play and its article are notable. Flami72 (talk) 11:20, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
