Reformation
[edit]Skunk Anansie have reformed (03/03/2009) and have released tickets (Sold out) for their first two gigs at the Water Rats in Kings Cross http://www.skinmusic.net/main.php Someone who knows what they're doing with Wikipedia might want to edit this article to point that out?
Update: Thanks who ever did that. I went to the Thursday gig and they have reformed, sung some new stuff etc. Someone who knows what they're doing may want to edit the article to the present tense e.g. change "Skunk Anansie were a British rock band" etc —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.28.217.152 (talk) 18:31, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

They don't start their tour in Leeds as there is a gig scheduled in Vienna on the 17th of November! Candycanesheep (talk) 11:14, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Discography
[edit]The linked album pages from the Discography are in need of much work, a lot don't exist. Prior to my update this page also listed Skunk Anansie as only having 3 releases!! There are over 70 (see the Amazon link at External Links)... --Chaosfeary 12:47, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
- There are articles on all of their albums; the other releases are singles or EPs. Warofdreams talk 09:26, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi. We don't list every version of every album in band discographies. We certainly don't list every release of the same album on different media or under different catalogue numbers, nor do we list every appearance by the band on compilation albums. Please see: Wikipedia:Guide to layout#Standardized appendices and Wikipedia:Filmographies and Discographies. If you have any questions about this, feel free to bring it up at the appropriate Talk pages. If it is very important to you that Wikipedia readers know that these albums have been released in various formats, you should consider contributing to the album articles. See WP:ALBUM for details on writing album articles. Jkelly 15:21, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
Information for other album pages, or people wanting to make ones for the other albums

- Hi. Amazon.com, while a very useful link for shopping, certainly returns a great number of albums that Skunk Anansie songs are on. As a source for band discographies, we tend to use All Music Guide. You'll note that AMG lists all three albums that the band produced. I'd like to encourage you to stop cutting and pasting from Amazon.com, and consider reading some of the guidelines above. Since it seems very, very important to you to have the Amazon.com information in the article, I am not going to revert it for the time being. Also, I notice that you listed that Amazon link on the Talk page of each album article. In the future, keep in mind that there's no need to do that. Jkelly 16:28, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
Should this page have a link to long song titles like this?

Anansie name origin
[edit]Just to say Anansi is an African god, not a West Indian, as reported in the specifical page for that divinity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anansi "Anansi is one of the most important gods of west African lore." --82.185.183.3 07:57, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- My understanding was that the name anansie referred to some stinky skunk or civet type animal in Jamaican slang/patois/argot, I don't have the reference in front of me right now, so I'll just mention it here.9eyedeel (talk) 19:31, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Anti-Christian?
[edit]I find the sentence claiming that Skunk Anansie are known for their anti-Christianity messages somewhat confusing. I know their music and do not see their music as anti-christian. The song Selling Jesus is not even anti-christian, just merely attacking one part of christianity, who can be seen to guilt trip you into giving them money. Does anyone have any proof to back the statement in the article up? Gothesque 13:41, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Apparently not! Matthew 13:09, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Is it work mentioning that SA headlined Glastonbury in, I think, 1999? Matthew 13:09, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Unofficial sites
[edit]I included Kelv's Skunk Anansie site in the external links once before as it has been around almost as long as the band and is the only one still going. Is there a good reason it was removed? --Phantomflanflinger 18:34, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Skunk Anansie inspired Cowboy Bebop?
[edit]If you listen to the Skunk Anansie song "Secretly" and then listen to the Cowboy Bebop song No Reply, the two are very similar in their intros. Way too similar. No Reply came out in 2001 in the Cowboy Bebop movie, which would've been in production when Secretly was released in late 1999. --Augur
Song samples
[edit]I removed these samples from the article, they were included as a list at the bottom of the article. And that was not really fair use. Nor did it help the article.

Images
[edit]I have undone IP edits to this article and Skin (musician) with no edit summary which remove File:Mark Richardson.jpg and File:Skunk Anansie - 02.jpg, replace File:Skunk Anansie.jpg & File:Deborah Anne Dyer aka Skin.jpg in the infoboxes with File:Skunk Anansie in rome by Paride.jpg and replace File:Skin Eska Music Awards.jpg with the copyrighted image Image:FakeChemicalState.jpg.
In the case of the album cover, copyrighted cover art should only be used 'for visual identification only in the context of critical commentary of that item' - there is no critical commentary in the Skin article about this album. For the other images they seem to me to be obviously of better quality.
Could we please discuss this here rather than WP:EDITWARRING. JMiall₰ 10:56, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, for information i have requested today on commons the deletion of the file File:Skunk Anansie in rome by Paride.jpg because of its poor quality. Olyvar (talk) 19:14, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
