Is anyone aware of the four distinct flavours of Skips that were available somewhere between late 80s and early 90s? An advertising campaign at the time used the four individual quarters of a skip (the snack is naturally divided into quarters by the pattern on its surface) to represent four unique flavours. The advertisement presented a skip that appeared to have four colonies of tiny people living in the four quarters of the snack - each group was a stereotype that was culturally tied to a specific flavour. One quarter of the Skip was populated by ninjas who, if memory serves, represented some form of spicy/oriental flavouring.
It would be nice to hear one person say they remember also. A little validation is all I ask :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nm51ml (talk • contribs) 19:40 UTC, 27 June 2006
Yes I remember. It was rubbish. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.41.107.167 (talk • contribs) 03:51 UTC, 3 August 2007
They weren't originally marketed as "Prawn Cocktail" flavour. When they first came out they were simply packaged as "Skips", with no flavour mentioned on the packet at all, although the TV adverts alluded to them being "sweet and sour". The original TV ads used the strap line "Skips bring a zip to your taste buds". Hmmm. No marketing award for that one then..... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.201.155.26 (talk • contribs) 00:19 UTC, 15 November 2007
Unique Shape
[edit]Does anyone know what the actual shape and colouration of the individual Skips was meant to represent? A sea urchin? A flower? Very distinctive pattern, with no explanation. I think some mention of the shape on this page would be a good thing, given how very unusual it was. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.99.153.68 (talk) 13:59, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
false speedy tagging
[edit]I am removing {{db-afd}}-the afd was just posted, no agreement was reached whatsoever, as was claimed. it was either the wrong tag, or blatant falsehood claim by tagger. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 05:34, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Japan
[edit]There are a number of questions here... (1) Are the snacks still manufactured in Japan, and how do they differ (if at all) from Skips? (2) What are they called in Japanese? (3) Do KP have to pay an annual licence fee to Meiji or was it a one-off and permanent licence or what? (4) Are they as well known in Japan as Skips are in the UK? 10:28, 14 January 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.147.127.101 (talk)
