Early 1970s Skip
[edit]I met Skip Williamson once or twice in the very early '70s and was acquainted with some of his family. Once you met Skip, you didn't forget him. He was of Mexican descent and had a huge mass of extremely long and thick black hair with a big black buccaneer beard to match; this was all the way back when wearing long hair "meant something" very definite, and he was quite impressive to behold wherever he went, sort of the Thor of underground comics artists: they should change "Thursday" to "Skipsday." I was sorry to learn a few moments ago that he had died so young. Drew Friedman's new book on the underground "comix" guys reminded me of him after all these years. I like this Wikipedia article; his hilarious cartoon about the trash cans was a perfect item to remember him by. Racing Forward (talk) 16:08, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Who confirmed the death?
[edit]A soon retracted rumor was circulating on social media yesterday. Williamson's wife debunked it. Unless the death notice came from her I wouldn't trust it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:C0:C100:E18C:75E5:E381:2798:F60D (talk) 19:40, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
