POV?

[edit]

The beginning of the article seems slightly opinionated to me... "They have contributed what is considered by some as the first real signs of progression in funeral doom since Thergothon, and one of best to ever expand on their genre and open horizons for new bands such as Shape of Despair to come into the genre." I don't know enough about the band to feel comfortable changing it, though. --Grant M 04:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I beg to differ, the impact Skepticism have had since Stormcrowfleet is undeniable and many modern funeral doom bands acknowledge them as a major influence (the aforementioned Shape of Despair being probably the most high profile). In fairness that part is written in a very blunt manner but the fact is that Stormcrowfleet was a very original album when it was first released, featuring more prominent keyboards and muted vocals as well as a more free-flowing songwriting style (in comparison to Funeral and Thergothon), all of which are common practice amongst the more keyboard driven funeral Doom acts of today. Given this I don't see how there's anything wrong with acknowledging them as trend-setters because, simply, they were. Admittedly though, they weren't the first band to play with the formula of Funeral Doom, Funeral's Tragedies, released the year before, added classical guitars and female vocals to the mix so they (at least) represented progression within the style before Stormcrowfleet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.15.48.102 (talk) 17:36, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Aes.jpg

[edit]

Image:Aes.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
