I think the quoted statement need to be more elaborate
"In Japan sixteen Arhats are particularly popular in Zen Buddhism, where they are treated as examples of behaviour."
Is it like aspects of yourself, like an understanding of Vimalakirti Sutra, all the beings in Vimalakirtis hut? In that case what do these different Arhats symbolize, I guess there must be atleast some translation of the names in to english?
