Texas Chute Out Accident

I was completely unaware of the 1982 accident on the Texas Chute Out that is mentioned in the article. I really am not sure that this actually happened. If anyone else can confirm or deny this as a fact, please do so. I have added a "citation needed" template in the article. Andrea Parton 02:30, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Some of the things in this article are insulting and vulgar.

"wetback" is a term the probably should not be used in an informative article, nor should it be noted that "Mexicans stink when they sweat". It seems very rude to include these two elements.

Also, it does not seem nonpartisan to mention that Six Flags Over Texas has a history of "stingy greedy owners" and "cane beatings in the parking lot". Any respective person reading this article in hopes of finding a theme park appropriate for families may not find this to be appealing, nor it is at all relevant to the paragraph that it is in. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Human after all (talk • contribs) 23:53, 23 February 2007 (UTC).

Best of Texas Festival Confusion

There have been some recent edits going back and forth about festival held in the month of September at Six Flags over Texas. The correct information is that it was originally called the "Texas Heritage Festival", but in 2006 the name changed to the Best of Texas Festival. The incorrect information labeled the original name as "Heritage in the Park". This is confusing the "Texas Heritage Festival" with "Holiday in the Park" another festival held during the holiday season. Six Flags has never had both a Heritage in the Park and a Holiday in the Park for the very reason that the names would be too similar. If anyone wishes to prove that the name was originally Heritage in the Park, please produce the citation or a picture of the logo. Thanks.

Go Over Coasters & Rides

When did it open?

The Six Flags article claims that Six Flags over Texas opened in 1954, the year before Disneyland opened. This article claims that it was a visit to the recently opened Disneyland park that inspired the creation of the park, and that it opened in 1960.

Which is it?

Intamin Freefalls

Although I typically do not like to reference park press releases as SFOT sometimes makes dubious claims, in this case the press release is correct. Cliffhanger, the prototype Intamin Freefall, was installed at Six Flags Over Texas in 1982, followed by Freefall number two at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The Edge, at SF Great America, that was previously mentioned on this page, was not installed until 1983. 1982-83 park brochures from all three parks confirm this. The tower supports on Freefalls one and two (SFOT and SFMM) had a much wider flare at the bottom of the tower. All the subsequent models were narrower.
