Date of birth
[edit]In this edit (26 March 2015), Swineposit added a date of birth, effectively (if perhaps not intentionally) attributing this to an article in The Guardian.
The article does not give a date of birth.
In this edit (5 November 2016), Swineposit removed the date of birth (giving no reason).
In this edit (also 5 November), Lopifalko restored it: "If there is a valid reason for this removal then please say so in the edit log". (I'd guess that Lopifalko assumed that this factoid had been sourced in the Guardian article. If so, then an understandable if false assumption.)
In this edit (7 November 2016), and without any explanation, Swineposit changed it to a different date of birth, again effectively (if perhaps not intentionally) attributing this to the article in The Guardian (yes, an article that gives no date of birth).
In this edit (10 November 2016), I removed it as unsourced.
Wikipedia presents factual information IFF this is reliably sourced. I'd hope that everybody involved knows this. Additionally please read and digest WP:BLP and particularly this within it.
Incidentally, the DoB that Swineposit added on 26 March 2015 was 27 March. On the same day, Swineposit added the same date, 27 March, to Graham Gardner, again presenting no evidence for this. (I'm indebted to Yamaguchi先生 for pointing this out.) Strange, that. -- Hoary (talk) 23:36, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
- Swineposit, just five days ago you altered the article so that it said she was born on 1 January. You effectively attributed this to an article in The Guardian. Unsurprisingly, this article gives no birth date, so I suppose the attribution was simply a mistake. When and since creating this article, I've wished I had access to some detailed biography of Konttinen, so I'd be most interested to learn which material provided you with a date of birth. What (where) is it? -- Hoary (talk) 23:52, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
If anyone's wondering what happened, the simplest explanation is that Swineposit liked dreaming up dates of birth for people, and splattering these fictions across various Wikipedias. (See this.) Swineposit is blocked indefinitely from editing Wikidata and English-language Wikipedia. -- Hoary (talk) 09:12, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
