Cleanup
[edit]I'm cleaning up this disambiguation page per Wikipedia:Disambiguation. I removed explanations of the term sire and added a link to the wiktionary page instead. The vampire meaning of "Sire" is not mentioned there, and there is (doesn't seem to be) a wiki article about that phenomenon, so I created one as Sire (vampire). If I got the description wrong (I used the one from Childe (vampire)), please correct it. If you think there should not be a wiki article with that name, move the decription over to wiktionary.
I also deleted the term Grandsire from the disambiguation page, because (1) that's not what a disambiguation page is for and (2) there is no wiki article about Grandsire so far.
The old descriptions were:
- Sire, in vampire mythology and fiction, is the vampire that turned another being into a vampire (which is now his or her childe).
- In the case of the fictional Buffyverse see here.
Grandsire is the term for the sire of a sire, much like grandfather or grandmother.
- According to the Department of Canadian Heritage, the title of sire is given in conversation with a male monarch (king or emperor). http://www.canadianheritage.gc.ca/progs/cpsc-ccsp/pe/address4_e.cfm
