Oldcastle
[edit]Was Oldcastle really a page to Thomas Mowbray? Have an idea this is a "factoid". (The ages are certainly a bit strange for Falstaff to have been, though Shakespeare makes Mowbray older than he was.)
That Falstaff cries "O!" in "Merry Wives" is a mind-boggling 'conspiracy theory'! His cries at this point are more memorable in Verdi than in Shakespeare - maybe Verdi was in on the Oldcastle attribution.
