Para service?

"MacGregor served as a member of the 16th Parachute Brigade Group during the Second World War and attained the rank of Brigade Major."

He was commissioned into the Scots Guards on 22 September 1944 at the age of 18. The above quote, which I have moved here form the article itself, suggests that he had served as a para and achieved the rank of Major before joining the SG. This is highly unlikely as even during war, it takes a few years to be promoted to major. Gaia Octavia Agrippa^Talk 14:02, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
