China waives interest-free loans for 23 countries
[edit]So China just waived interest-free loans for 23 countries. African nations are asking the USA, IMF, World Bank to do the same and is getting crickets. Sounds like Debt trap debunking yet again. CaribDigita (talk) 17:57, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, and the forgiveness by China is already in this Wiki article as well. And agreed - the idea of a Chinese "debt trap" of Africa is incorrect. JArthur1984 (talk) 19:15, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- The Africans are now smartly analyzing western media mis-information about China. It's kinda interesting. Nigeria's Vice President:
Nig. VP_ U.S & the West Can't Be Trusted. China is a Better Ally to Africa This article should move smartly less Wikipedia's credibility will start to be scrutinized as well as being misinformation. CaribDigita (talk) 07:14, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
Merging
[edit]Shouldn't it be merged with "China-Africa economic relations"? Pingijno (talk) 11:07, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- It makes sense from an organizational standpoint, but what would the combined length of the proposed merged article be? It could be inconveniently long. JArthur1984 (talk) 12:43, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- Perhaps. Some of the article is cruft. Africans play *no* role in the Muslim Uyghurs. They don't send arms to them. They aren't deporting them back to China specifically for torture.
- Uyghurs are all an internal affairs of China that has nothing to do with Africa for the most part, but certain editors want to mention same thing over-and-over-and-over on all articles.
Much of this article is seeming puffery- talking points of the west and U.S. government and not actually of African nations and more probably belong on US-China relations and so on. It is a non issue in many African nations. African nations seemingly don't get into China's internal affairs and China doesn't medle in African nations internal affairs unlike the west.
