The Numbers don't add up
[edit]The Guardian source mentions 25B$ for the total of the day's shopping. But another source mentions that it's 4 time bigger than black friday, which would mean it's around 25B$ for Alibaba alone.
Given that the total 2017 revenue of Alibaba is 25B$... there is a huge discrepancy between these numbers.

Information about origin
[edit]It would be good to verify those "origin stories" and see if there are any sources other than that one source that support the second one. Embuuzy (talk) 00:31, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Agreed. In fact, this statement: "The holiday was named "Singles' Day" because its date, 11/11 (November 11), consists of four "ones," representing four singles", sounds completely backwards. Isn't it more likely that the date was chosen in order to represent singles, and not the other way around? 76.102.93.221 (talk) 11:57, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
