Fair use rationale for Image:Singapore Symphony Orchestra Logo.gif
[edit]Image:Singapore Symphony Orchestra Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Aging
[edit]This article is severely out of date. I hope someone familiar with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra will be able to update it. If you are such a person, please keep in mind that an article should not be time-specific (such sentences as "The orchestra's 06/07 season has just been announced" are particularly off-putting). :) — flamingspinach | (talk) 05:08, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Hagiographic tone
[edit]I have removed (if not completely cleaned out) the hagiographic, PR-like and laundry list text from this article. The purpose of wikipedia is simply to 'state the facts' and not serve as a PR-like medium for a given organisation (orchestra, etc). To anyone from the Singapore Symphony, please keep this in mind. DJRafe (talk) 23:24, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- @DJRafe: I think you have removed excessive amount of information, given that you remove chunks of material that are entirely factual, such as what works were performed in its inaugural concert. You may argue that they are unimportant, but they are not hagiographic. To me it illustrates the inclusion of Chinese material that is not part of the standard Western repertoire. It was largely OK until someone else added a lot of excessively PR material just a week or two ago. Hzh (talk) 19:02, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
