Didn't Homer speak Russian in an episode?????Rmpfu89 20:57, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

I don't know if it's my browser or what, but why does it seem that some of the Linguistics information is underneath Hugo, even though it's in (the right place) in the Edit page? EgyptianSushi 5:14, 31 December 2005

Linguistic Ability

I think this section needs to be expanded on, to tell when they spoke those languages.--<username removed - inapporite> 21:45, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

This says nothing about the fact that Homer's REAL dad, by a DNA test, is NOT Abe. It should be included. The Diplomat 20:06, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

References

Can I pleeeeaaaase remove the tag? It is true what is says in the article!! Why do you guys always need sources for everything!!???? NorwegianMarcus 13:44, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I can't figure out how to get a clickable linke on Bart Jr. for the lizard..I got the other animals linked, but can't get that one, if anyone can help...it is on the same page as the other animals/ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ctjf83 (talkcontribs) 03:52, 12 January 2007 (UTC).

Nuclear Family?

I understand what it means but it just might seem a little wierd to the average visiting reader at first as to if the term Nuclear family is best? Anything better to think of? Felix 23:56, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Frank/Francine/Mother Shabubu

I think it's more speculative to assume this person does exist considering:

  • Marge hasn't ever heard of this relative
  • Homer isn't always in touch with reality
  • Frank's story seems... not very real

If you read Abe's article, it 'speculates' that most of Abe's ramblings aren't true due to the craziness of the stories. This is the same thing... 72.69.127.101 15:29, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Herb powell.gif

Image:Herb powell.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:56, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Bart: Jojo or Jo-Jo?

Bart's middle name is referenced as Jo-Jo, while the main article Bart Simpson says Jojo. Are there any reliable sources for one of these versions, to provide a consistent spelling for both articles? --Invisigoth67 11:00, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Herbert Powell

just watching the episode where Herbert Powell is first intorduced, and his mother is the one who, with Abe Simpson, drops him at an orphanage, then goes and marries Abe and has Homer. So they are infact full brothers, not hlaf brothers. Mona is seen telling ABe never to tell Homer about 'what happened'. So i'd like the article to be chamged to reflect this.

Why isn't this article part of the article called "List of characters in The Simpsons"?

isn't it technically possible? or is it part of the "we want more articles than any other wikipedia in the world!"-plan? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.179.175.181 (talk) 15:26, August 26, 2007 (UTC)

the List of characters is already too long. -- Scorpion0422 15:42, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Barts Scar

Please watch the episode if you don't believe me. Barts scar still makes him the good right twin, as his scars on the left. Just please stop changing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.38.66.42 (talk) 12:40, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Great Aunt Hortence

Didn't Homer have a Great Aunt called Hortence or Hortense that died in one episode? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.3.219.134 (talk) 12:31, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't know who took care of it, but this issue has been resolved in the article, referring to Aunt Hortense in Bart the Fink JW (talk) 11:04, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Issue with Clancy

  • he disapproved of his youngest daughter Marge's relationship with Homer Simpson and commented later after meeting him; "You know, when that Simpson boy showed up, it took years off my life." To which Jacqueline replied with, "Will you stop? She went with the good one." Referring to Artie Ziff

If he disapproved, why would his wife say "Will you stop?" I always took this to mean that he liked Homer and the mother preferred Artie. Therefore I'm shortening it to "he...commented later after meeting Homer 'You know...'" JW (talk) 10:59, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

The image Image:Oh Brother Where Art Thou.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

extended families

should those sections be renamed to something like "Homer's/Marge's relatives". Some newcomers might not necessary realize i.e. that do the Bouviers refer to. Nergaal (talk) 02:39, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Ling Bouvier image

Why is there an image of Ling Bouvier? Now that we got these strict fair use rules, wouldn't it then be better to use our quota on some more important characters. I propose that we get rid of Ling and insert an image of Patty and Selma instead. --Maitch (talk) 00:20, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I actually think its better this way, since Patty and Selma already have images on their own page. Its better to have at least one image of a character than multiple pictures of characters on different pages. Rhino131 (talk) 22:51, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
