Family

[edit]

I think his father is Richard Keynes (this makes him genealogically quite interesting). If anyone can confirm please. Otherwise I'll email him. — Dunc| 17:55, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of coverage

[edit]

WP:ACADEMIC: "It is possible for an academic to be notable according to this standard, and yet not be an appropriate topic for coverage in Wikipedia because of a lack of reliable, independent sources on the subject." HrafnTalkStalk 17:03, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nominate it for deletion if you like. Let me know and I will "vote" to delete, but the AfD will fail. WP serves as a Who's Who for professors, regardless of policy.Jaque Hammer (talk) 09:47, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not much point -- that guideline tends to get ignored by the inclusionists who frequent AfDs. That crowd thinks that a former-camp-now-secondary-airstrip in Antarctica is notable, and a single sentence on an agreement in a book indexing approx 10,000 such agreements to be "significant coverage". To get this guy past that crowd, I'd have to prove that the men in black had erased all evidence that he ever existed. :/ HrafnTalkStalk(P) 10:45, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would nominate it myself, but I don't feel like wasting my time. No offense to Professor Keynes, who I'm sure is a good person. Jaque Hammer (talk) 12:13, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WP:REDIRECT to Keynes family might be a valid solution, given the complete lack of third party content (and the relative lack of any other). HrafnTalkStalk(P) 12:27, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated the missing/out-of-date external links and added Category:Fellows of the British Academy (which, BTW, satisfies Criterion 3). Some of his publications could be added to the article. I'm prepared to bet that he's in Who's Who but don't have ready access to a copy. --GuillaumeTell 17:09, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
He's not in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. He is however in Gales (but only has a short resume-like mention) -- I've added this to the article. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 18:23, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You have to be dead to be in the ODNB! He's in Debrett, however, which I've converted to a ref, and with all those Fellowships he's got to be in Who's Who, which will have more biographical detail. I'll look in at the library tomorrow if I have time. --GuillaumeTell 18:55, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
