Keith Wearing
[edit]Should Keith Wearing be placed in the cast section as he only appears in one episode an played a relatively minor role, wouldn't it be better if his information was entered in the episode summary for episode 5 season 1. any thoughts? --Ratio:Decidendi · [ Talk ] 21:19, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Billy's position
[edit]To an Australian , Billy's position is incomprehensible : he appears as a "clerk", yet he seems to have an extraordinary powerful position. AFAIK, this is unknown here, and hard to understand...is there any parallel in other professions to explain why he is so powerful ?
QC, unknown elsewhere
[edit]here in A/a, we have had "SC" Senior Counsel, as the equivalent, for quite a while now. I wonder what that is in eg Canada, or USA , or Europe, for that matter? At the moment, the article may not be readily comprehensible to non-UK WP readers. Of course, thanks though, to the WPers who have put it up ! Great show, too !
Court case, last episode
[edit]This was rather implausible.
'Right - the supposed murderer went into a cafe, and left his jacket hanging out of the window, rather than, realising there was blood on it, chucking it in the nearest canal (being a different offence entirely). X months later, during the trial 'this supergrass here' tells someone where to go - and the jacket is still sitting there, rather than being nicked, has no sign of vermin damage... and the manufacturer says there was a run of Y thousand. This is #not a stupid TV plothole filler show.#' 80.254.147.68 (talk) 13:43, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
I have to agree. I have been a huge fan of the show since the start and was very disappointed with this last episode. The whole jacket and gun thing was rather implausible. Clive becoming HOC was very predictable and Martha seemingly running away which goes against everything she ever seemed to stand for makes a mockery of her character and the show. It's only saving grace was the acting which was flawless as ever but the show went out with a whimper rather than a bang I'm very sad to say. cassiuschrome (talk) 16:53, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- And Martha did no campaigning. The 'plothole filler show' comment is tongue in cheek.
How easy would it be to move between chambers/establish a new one? Is it merely 'vacancies advertised and sets of chambers coming onto the market or more difficult? Having this as a series thread would have been a far better plot driver (or 'the proverbial "The winner of the election is..." and fade out'). 80.254.147.68 (talk) 17:33, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- Surely a forensic investigator would have to check the jacket before it could be used as evidence (and would be considered incompetent if not pointing out the handedness of the injury and the bloodstain).
'Fitting things into an episode/simplifying things which would take longer/be more complicated in reality' is one thing - showing a disregard for plausibility is another.
'The moral is - write something better' :) Jackiespeel (talk) 15:27, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
I personally would love to see a CW spin off. Frances Barber was totally wasted in series 3 which was a real shame as there is a lot they could do with her. We got glimpses of a dark and complicated past but only scratched the surface. So much of series 3 was spent on Martha and Clive's will they won't they saga along with Billy's cancer and although the acting was exceptional, it was very tedious by the end. Another thing that really annoyed me was If Neil Stuke said "Clerk", "your a clerk", "I'm a clerk" once more I was going to kick the cat through the TV. Having watched the entire series again on DVD, there were some moments of greatness but the last episode was poor. To be frank if this is the best Silk had to offer, maybe it's good it ended when it did. cassiuschrome (talk) 21:53, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
- In part 'a case of the usual end-of-the-series-and-no-next-series-itis.'
Another implausibility - the vote splits evenly (which could happen) and the newest member of chambers wanders in, seemingly having not heard the cases being put by those standing and is asked to give the casting vote.
As asked above - what are the proceedures for 'moving to another chambers' (as might well happen, in this case as some members might wish to do defence as well as prosecution work)? Jackiespeel (talk) 09:29, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
Well as we saw in Series 2 with Caroline joining Shoe Lane, becoming a member of another chambers is a possibility. You just make your intentions known to said chambers and they vote on it. Obviously nothing is guaranteed and they may not get in but it's a reasonably simple, but potentially lengthy process I believe. The whole Amy with the deciding vote thing was, I agree, rather silly but that sums up the whole episode really. cassiuschrome (talk) 19:58, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
- It is much easier for those of fanfic and other fiction writing dispositions to write 'a taut and elegant narrative' (especially after the event) than it is to 'create a TV episode with its need for visual components.'
Having an ambiguous ending 'the plotlines theoretically extending beyond the last episode' can work. Jackiespeel (talk) 09:29, 11 April 2014 (UTC) ... and a hung vote like this (or even a close vote) would probably result in a second round of electioneering and voting. 80.254.147.68 (talk) 17:25, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- The Gauda Prime gambit has to be done well to work. 108.171.128.162 (talk) 15:28, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
General Article Vandalism
[edit]I would ask everyone to be aware of a certain few members changing this article on a regular basis for no reason with information that is either incorrect or not required. Namely...
- that Nick and Niamh (Pupils in series 1) shadowed Martha Costello QC and Clive Reader QC. In series 1, neither was a QC. Martha became a QC technically in Series 2, episode 1 and Clive became a silk in Series 3, episode 1 so this is just not true.
- Amy Laing (Series 3 pupil) shadowed both Martha and Clive. Martha in early episodes then Clive later on. She did not shadow just Clive.
Someone has changed this on several occasions and is obviously doing it just to annoy. If they would care to do their research instead of just being childish, they would know they are wrong.
Again I would ask all genuine members to keep a eye out for this vandalism and act accordingly. Cheers guys. Cassiuschrome

Orphaned references in Silk (TV series)
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Silk (TV series)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
