This article ia not up to date. The restoration of the Sechelles Giant tortoise species rediscovered in the 1990's was ended in Dec. 2010. From what I know, via the web, the project was occuring on Silhouette Island in a park called by the island's name. The last I read of the project is that the tortoises have been removed and are now being placed on two tiny islands, North Island and Cousine (a privately owned island). So this article is out of date. The rediscovery of the presumed extinct two Sechelles giant tortoise species in private collections around the globe so recently and their very successful breeding of 160 in a new generation for the Arnold's Giant tortoise, is of great interest to the international conservation community. The reasons behind the restoration of the tortoise species here are unclear and the NGO in charge of the program simply states the facts on their page. It serves no one to interfere in the island state's internal affairs but this is a sad edit that needs to be done to the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.75.72.61 (talk) 06:00, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
