Fair use rationale for Image:Signing Off.jpg
[edit]Image:Signing Off.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:32, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

UB40 - Signing Off, Track 6. I Think It's Going To Rain Today, is printed as, I Think It's Going To Rain Again@ on the back side of the CD case of Signing Off. The '@' indicates that it was written by [Randy] Newman, Published by Warner Chappell Music Ltd. This is according to the CD edition:
CDOVD439 0777 7 88261 2 5 PM 500 ℗ & © 1980 VIRGIN RECORDS LTD [disc] Made in EU - [info inserts] Printed in Holland. Printed on the disc itself, track 6 is titled (correctly, I believe), I Think It's Going To Rain Today. However, when put into the iTunes library it appears as, I Think It's Going To Rain Again. Ali Campbell certainly sings it as "Today" and not "Again". After some searches, I see most sites list it as "......Today" but several do list it as "......Again". It would seem that Wikipedia do have the song correctly titled as, I Think It's Going To Rain Today. If it can be verified that the printed title on the back cover of the CD as, I Think It's Going To Rain Again, is a misprint and that the iTunes library information I've been given is also incorrect, perhaps some note about the misprint/misinformation could be included in the 'Cover Art' section of the 'Signing Off' page? Whilst the iTunes library import of the disc reads the track as, I think It's Going To Rain Again, the iTunes store lists it as I Think It's Going To Rain Today. (My money would be on the latter being correct ; that being the title of the original song by Randy Newman that UB40 have covered here and that same title being a part of the lyric). NB I don't know if this typo on the CD back cover also occurs on the vinyl LP cover/label or not? I haven't made any changes to the page to include any of this info, not knowing how widespread this typo was and I'm not sure how to verify the info either, (I'm a newbie here)? It may be that the CD I'm holding is just a rare oddity? Taopenda (talk) 14:09, 5 April 2009 (UTC) |
