• The first sentence needs to be reworded. Having the two "operates/operated" seems to break the flow.

Block signaling

• "...can be forced to switch to stop aspect by interlocking tower" - This sounds like broken English.
  • It actually is not broken English, however (...can be forced to switch to the "stop aspect", meaning that the interlocking tower can force the signal to display a stop aspect). This has been fixed. epicgenius (talk) 18:28, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
• "...additional signals (call-on, dwarf, marker, sign, time signals)" - More info needs to be given in regards to all these terms

• The last couple of sentences before the start of the "Types of block signals" need references.

Types of block signals

• Can you please add citations to each of the image captions (the types of signals) just so its easier for the reader to locate the source (rather than having to figure out which source to look at in the paragraphs below)?

• When you mention "Station Timer", include the same words in the appropriate signal image above so a reader can easily connect the dots.

• In the second paragraph, three sentences only use citation 10. You can just include citation 10 on the third sentence.

• Regarding the paragraph about "Wheel Detectors", can more information be added regarding how they work?

• ""Gap Filler Signals" are used at the 14th Street–Union Square station and formerly at the South Ferry Loop station, which closed on June 27, 2017, where gap fillers extend out from the platforms to bridge the space between the platform and the car body and door at the curved stations." - This sentence needs some reworking (it doesn't flow).

• Why are "Gap Filler Signals" not included in the signal images?

• "The lights on the old-IRT signals, from bottom to top, were yellow, red, and green. The lights on current signals are arranged from top to bottom, are green, yellow, and red." - This paragraph just seems randomly inserted here. I would probably mention this at the start of the sub-section. The next paragraph also seems like something that should be mentioned near the beginning.

Types of interlocking signals

• "Interlockings are places where tracks are connected by switches and where routes may conflict" --> "Interlockings are sections of track that are connected by switches; typically where routes may conflict". (My revised sentence is just a suggestion)

  Routes always confict at interlockings, that is why they are called interlockings. When one route is set, all other routes are blocked out to prevent dangerous situations.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 21:27, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

Automatic Train Supervision

• I think it makes sense that this section be a subsection of "Automation"?
  • These are actually two different systems. ATS still has operators manually driving the trains, but they have limited automatic guidance (such as for speed regulation), and the train controller knows where the trains are. Automation has the computer drive the train most of the time, with the train operator only at the controls in case the train needs to switch to manual operation. epicgenius (talk) 17:32, 28 April 2018 (UTC)

• "The estimated completion date was scheduled for March 2015, and the installation is expected to be permanent." - I'm a little confused. So CBTC has yet to be implemented? If so, when is the new completion date?

 Done– That was for the test track. The CBTC project will be completed in May 2022.

Queens Boulevard Line CBTC

• "It also planned to start training operators by December 2018 and convert the 309 R160 consists by June 2020" - The last part of the sentence doesn't make sense

Ultra-wideband signaling and other proposals

• "(see Technology of the New York City Subway § Cellular phone and wireless data)" - This can be simplified to avoid the weird symbol. Also, instead of have this in brackets, link to the article through the words "current setup".

@Kew Gardens 613 and Epicgenius: The new image Epicgenius put at the top of the article reminded me of something. I think it would be worth mentioning that if the signal is on the left side of the train, it is a "mirror" of a signal further ahead that is on the right side of the train (this is so the driver can "see" the signal ahead while going through a tight curve). Of course, a reference would need to be found. I'm not sure if thats how the signals actually work in NYC, but that has they work in Toronto so I assume NYC would work the same since Toronto and NYC are very similar.--Dom497 (talk) 21:29, 29 April 2018 (UTC)

@Kew Gardens 613: Refs 1, 4, 10, 29, 32, 37, 38, and 56 are missing a retrieval date. Ref 30 uses two different date formats. Ref 54 is dead (thought I mentioned this before but apparently I didn't...whoops).--Dom497 (talk) 01:40, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
