Template

[edit]

Please do not replace the "neologism" template without first discussing with care and thoroughness here. If you believe the article should be titled differently, please use "Discussion" to propose a new title such as "British people of Sierra Leonean descent"; it's our content that matters most. I've replaced the template because I still think this is a neologism, and that stands regardless of my views of what a better title should be. You say the content is the most important thing, but the content starts with "Sierra Leonean British is a term given to British people of Sierra Leonean descent", which I contest. The tag needs to be there to warn readers who might not look at the discussion page and therefore don't realise there is a problem with the article. I agree that British people of Sierra Leonean descent is probably a better title. Cordless Larry (talk) 19:38, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's quite clear from your earlier behavior that you are attempting to eliminate entire articles (i.e., their entire content), and not simply to move them to more accurate or proper titles. If you were interested in doing the latter, you'd simply propose, then execute such title changes (as would be the practice of most thoughtful, conscientious WP editors). Which articles are you referring to? I've recently nominated some for deletion because I don't belive the their subjects are notable enough, which I'm perfectly entitled to do. These are two seperate issues. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:20, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's quite clear that you believe numerically small ethnic groups do not merit articles and should be entirely deleted from Wikipedia, as you've demonstrated several times in recent weeks. Not all editors agree with this mindset. Badagnani (talk) 21:32, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I realise that not every editor agrees (I doubt every editor agrees on anything). If people disagree with me then it's up to them to air their views when I nominate articles for deletion. Wikipedia works on the basis of consensus. I believe all ethnic groups, no matter how small, should be covered by articles; what I object to is articles on intersections of groups which are very small.
