Oppose The common name of this mosque/museum in Algeria is "Sidi Bellahsen", just like the fr.wp article fr:Mosquée de Sidi Bellahsen, (also spelt with a c as in "Sidi Bellahcen"), whether the sources are in English[1][2] or in French[3][4] (lots more if needed). We would be doing the readers a great disservice by giving it a name that is meaningless to the locals. M.Bitton (talk) 23:15, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If that is indeed the spelling used most commonly locally, then there's good reason to defer to that; but if that's the argument then it seems the orthography to use here should be "Sidi Belahcen", as the current spelling ("Sidi Bellahsen") doesn't appear in the sources you linked either (although the second link isn't working for me). That said, the proposed name certainly can't be dismissed as "meaningless"; it's just the same name in another Arabic transliteration, and as shown above it is widely used in English sources, including some of the most widely accessible English sources and by some of the most cited scholars in the field. I'd like to leave this proposal here and ideally get input from another editor or two, but if this doesn't go through then I'd support moving it to that if you agree too. R Prazeres (talk) 23:13, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
