Sid Hatfield was the Police Chief

Sid Hatfield was the Police Chief of Matewan, WV. Sheriff is an elected county official. At the shoot out Mayor Testerman was killed. Later, Sid Hatfield married Testerman's widow. Lively was prosecuted

C.E. Lively was charged with shooting Hatfield but was acquitted at trial. No witnesses would testify.

POV

The reference to "outpouring of grief for the fallen local heroes at the funeral" is POV and should be deleted.Royalcourtier (talk) 02:47, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
