I created this article Sir aaron sama girl 22:00, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

I started the Shugo Chara article on June 4th, mine has since vanished (here's the old history: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Shugo_Chara&action=history ) and now this new one with a slightly different title has arrived (you seem to be the one who deleted my original article), and it says this page was created on June 26th (22 days after I first created a Shugo Chara article on wikipedia). No one cares who starts an article first, what matters most is that the info is here. Please, in the future, do not to mess with the work other people are doing on wiki, this is not a contest to try and prove who is a bigger fan. Thanks -- NatsukiGirl\talk 20:57, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I created the first Shugo Chara article until someone deleted it, then yours was created. So it's reverse. I created the first one but someone identified it as 'Spam', although it wasn't. I am not foolish. The version of the new Shugo Chara article is mine to-date, just check it's history page. And I didn't delete yours, your article is still up, just check your article's history page. If you want the redirect on your Shugo Chara article gone, please say so. no need to fuss Sir aaron sama girl 23:13, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
As I said, it shows clearly in the histories that I began the original article. The only reasons I can think is you redirected it for the sole purpose of attempting to gain false credit. No one has to take it from me, it's all there in the histories in crystal clear black and white. You can also see in my contributions list that I even went to the Peach Pit article the day I made the Shugo Chara page, and linked it. If you had made a page before there would be a record of it in your contribs or in an old page history. Also, from the looks of other people posting on your talk page, you have done bad things like this before on wikipedia. End of story. -- NatsukiGirl\talk 03:58, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

A comment

This article is actually very high-quality for a new, not-too-popular manga. I'll work on helping too, but in the meantime, great job~ CrowstarCrow callsTalon Marks 10:29, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, for my part, thanks. I've been making it my business to keep on top of collecting the special editions. Wish I could see the anime. :( -- NatsukiGirl\talk 07:53, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

"Chapters" and comments.

The current system, like "____ is mentioned in chapter ___" makes no sense. The manga has no labeling system like that.

Also, should we take out the events that happen in volume 3, which is unreleased in English? I sure know Kiseki never became an X egg in volume 1 or 2. CrowstarCrow callsTalon Marks 15:57, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

The way the article is written

I believe this article needs to change the way it's writen. Remember wikipedia is not a fan site. An example would be te word "super" as writen in the article "...has a reputation for being super cool and stylish". Slang adjetives unless necessary, to describe a character should not be present in a wikipedia article IMO. 213.140.6.122 (talk) 17:53, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Shugo Chara US adaptation?

Someone by the name of User_talk:Teddy.Coughlin is readding this information without a source. Can someone out there confirm that this show is even going to be in the United States? If so, can you provide a reliable source so it doesn't have to keep getting reverted. Momusufan (talk) 14:10, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Absolutely no evidence. English licenses are relatively big news, so if there was one for this series, someone would have definitely heard about it. TangentCube, Dialogues 14:13, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
True, I noticed this same user did it a week ago and you warned him to stop too. Momusufan (talk) 14:15, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Separate Page for Characters

I think that the characters should get their own page, "List of Characters in Shugo Chara!". With the characters in the main article, the article is horribly long. Kikiluvscheese (talk) 02:35, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree, the main page should be reserved for the plot and news. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crowstar (talkcontribs)
I've radded the main characters. WP:MOS-AM suggests that a character section should be on the main article, an if it is split off, there be a summary section of the principle characters put in it's place. As such, I have restored the descriptions of Amu and her four guardian Charas to comply with WP:MOS-AM. --Farix (Talk) 17:28, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

It's one thing to have more info about the characters, but you should include the four main characters: Amu, Utau, Ikuto, and the prince. Which is why I'm suggesting a mergeto. Bulmabriefs144 (talk) 02:27, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

There's no reason to merge the entire character article back into the main page, which is what the template implies. TangentCube, Dialogues 03:16, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I actually have to disagree that Utau, Ikuto, and Tadase are "main characters". I see them as important supporting characters, but the entire story revolves entirely around Amu and her guardians. --Farix (Talk) 21:34, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Terms

There has been an anonymous editor changing some of the terms on the List of Shugo Chara! characters. I have reverted the change twice in order to keep them consistent between all three articles. The terms the anonymous editor has been changing are

Chara Change -> Character Change Chara Become -> Character Transformation

The anonymous editor added a note to the article that Character Change and Character Transformation are the "official" translations from the manga. However, since I don't have a copy of the manga, I cannot confirm or deny this.

The issue here is that the editor is only change the terms on the character article and not the main or episode articles. This produces an inconsistency between the articles that should be avoided. --Farix (Talk) 02:29, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

(copypasta from Talk:List of Shugo Chara! characters) 74.71.66.121 does have a point; Del Rey's translation of the manga uses "Character" instead of "Chara" (for instance, volume 2, page 4). If the convention is to use the names as provided by English licensors/translators, these terms should be changed to "Character". TangentCube, Dialogues 02:27, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
If there are no objections, I'll change the following terms to their English-language equivalents, per precedent set by Del Rey's translation:
  • Chara Change → Character Change
  • Chara Become → Character Transformation
  • Guardian Chara → Guardian Character
TangentCube, Dialogues 00:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Where to place?

If I were to list down all the Character Transformations, their weapons, attacks, and Character Change stuff, like the changes to the hair and the item gained, plus a brief description of their appearance, abilities, etc. Would I place it in the main article, character article (though on a seperate section), or create an entirely new article?

I don't mind how it currently is, but having information about it both in the Character's profile and owner's profile is a bit lengthy and unorganized.

The information is placed in the Japanese Wiki is placed in the main article. Though it is rather long, I must say. --Kiseki-chi (talk) 10:41, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

What a mess!

I go on a 2 week wiki-break and this article become an unsightly mess. First, the character section should not have been deleted per WP:SS. Second, the terminology section is nothing more then junk that doesn't add any value to the article. As for the manga section, we can do without the lists of ISBN numbers and release dates which only clutters the article. Instead a more expansive version of the lead which also mentions the special edition releases should be included. To fix the problems, I'm going to restore the article to an earlier version from a week ago and see what I can do about a proper manga section. --Farix (Talk) 22:51, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Second season

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-07-20/shugo-chara-magical-girl-anime-2nd-year-green-lit

Even though ANN is reporting the possibility of a second season, it may be wise to hold off until an official announcement. ANN didn't provide a source for this news like they usually do, but they have been accurate on these matters before. --Farix (Talk) 13:03, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Of course this can be added in the two weeks till the official announcement.
Anime News Network has reported that Kodansha will announce that Shugo Chara! will continue for a second year. The announcement is expected to be made in the September issue of Nakayoshi magazine, which will hit newsstands on August 2, 2008.[1]
I only expect it to be on the article for two weeks until the official announcement. --Farix (Talk) 14:42, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Crunchyroll

Is the announcement about crunchyroll.com releasing subbed Shugo Chara! episodes really necessary? I've never even heard of this site before. --Sakurablossoms02 (talk) 20:25, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

The Crunchyroll release is the first official release of the anime series for an English-speaking country; I'd say that's quite relevant. —tan³ tx 05:03, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, just as it is worth mentioning any other English language company that licenses an anime series. Nevertheless, you've never heard of Crunchyroll? Where have you've been for the past year? Crunchyroll has been one of the biggest topics in NA fandom do to several Japanese companies teaming up with them in order to stream anime to the NA market. --Farix (Talk) 05:06, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I see. Sorry, I don't know about much of those kinds of sites, I'm very slow at that kind of thing. --Sakurablossoms02 (talk) 17:15, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

English title?

It seems official, the title of Shugo Chara! changed in English to My Guardian Characters as seen on Crunchyroll's page for the anime ([1]), but how should we mention this in the article? There has been no press release as of yet... --Geopgeop (T) 07:19, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

But only for the anime, Del Rey kept Shugo Chara! intact for the English release of the manga... --Geopgeop (T) 07:25, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Are you sure? I just checked the website and they still have it listed it as Shugo Chara though without the exclamation point. --Farix (Talk) 12:33, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Look up at the logo. (I didn't see this at first, either.) —tan³ tx 14:07, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Hideous. Whoever came up with that title needs to be whacked on the head. But CR still predominantly uses Shugo Chara as the title, so I don't think including the title from that banner is appropriate at this time. --Farix (Talk) 14:30, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
And as proof that we shouldn't place too much stock into CR's titles is Peace maker Kurogane, whose official English title is simply Peacemaker.

It's not a fan who came up with the title, it was TV Tokyo. I did receive a poster for Shugo Chara that my dad brought back from a convention where they sell shows. TV Tokyo is trying to get Shugo Chara licensed, so it's not like the title came out of no where. 68.96.80.163 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 16:09, 5 February 2009 (UTC).

New Opening

I have recently watched the new Shugo Chara! opening, but I don't know the name of it nor how to type characters in kanji. If anyone knows the title, could you please add it to the anime section?--Sakurablossoms02 (talk) 14:06, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Are you talking about the newest (episode 77~) openings/endings? I believe the newest opening's title can be roughly translated into 'Trust (entrust) me(us)♪ Guardians!'. The group that sung this is 'Guardians 4', apparently a new group made by the production company. The ending is 'MY BOY' by Buono!. Unfortunatly, I don't know the kanji. --The Integer Conundrum (talk) 08:10, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Someone posted the endings and openings. The opening is "Leave it to the♪Guardians" (おまかせ♪がーデイアン ,Omakase♪Guardians?), by Guardians4. —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Integer Conundrum (talkcontribs) 08:20, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

About Diamond Shugo Chara

"Diamond represents Amu's desire to be guided, a leader, and improve her musical skills" - musical skills? I thought Miki represents arts right? That includes music too. If you are talking about singing then I believe that Diamond represents Amu's "vocal skills" and also Diamond probably helps Amu become a good speaker in front of people because remember how Diamond told Amu to learn how to Shine? What she meant was "shine" infront of people and that's learning to be a good speaker and a leader. Blueknightex (talk) 01:42, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Diaya is the real name for Diamond. I agree with you. However, it can be noted that Shugo Chara's Korean version's character profiles say that 'Diamond represent's Amu's desire to sing, and be guided'. Apparently the above profile is the official one. Also, Diaya has no character change as of yet. I think that she won't have one, since she is supposedly special. --The Integer Conundrum (talk) 08:14, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
I dispute that "Diaya" is her "real name" as she has not give it yet. But according to the WP:MOS-AM, we are to use the official translated names. In this case, it is "Diamond". Any attempts to change it to "Dia" or "Diaya" will be reverted. --Farix (Talk) 22:10, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Affirmative, sir, though I didn't touch this article. --<The Integer Conundrum> (talk) 03:16, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Amu's Love Interests

I know that Amu likes Tadase and Ikuto, but doesn't she also like Kuukai? I mean, she gets pretty emotional when he's around sometimes...and sometimes she blushes... So wouldn't that one sentence say "Amu's(3)main love interests are Tadase,Ikuto and Kuukai."? That makes more sense to me...anybody else agree? Yirumaluver (talk) 20:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Kukai isn't one of the main love interests. She may have blushed around him a couple of time, but it's not a factor in the story and it would be inappropriate to mention it. He is simply a minor crush, along with Nagihiko and Kairi. At one time the paragraph mentioned this, but someone has removed it. --Farix (Talk) 21:49, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

ok how come the main page dosn't say anything about Ikuto if he's a character he should at lest be mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pais523101 (talkcontribs) 06:42, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Ikuto and Utau are briefly mentioned in the character section. Perhaps you didn't read thoroughly enough. --Farix (Talk) 18:59, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
IN the end of this whole thing she has to choose either tadase or ikuto and some ppl say that she chooses ikuto but then i read the manga and in the end of chapter 42 ikuto tells amu that he is leavin her forever. anybody have any guesses wat mite happen? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.227.79.148 (talk) 21:49, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
That's entirely up to Peach-Pit, but we can't speculate. Besides, this isn't a chat forum. Anything that isn't related to improving the article shouldn't be discussed here. --Farix (Talk) 21:55, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

License...?

(I'm redoing this cause it appears I screwed up last time and it got deleted) Anyway...[edited out mention of illegal site]...I looked up Shugo Chara, but it said it was licensed. Was this referring to the crunchyroll thing? Or is it really licensed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ulrock7777 (talkcontribs) 03:03, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, Crunchyroll itself has licensed the series. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 03:10, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Genre

I think Shugo Chara qualifies are Harem (genre). Although traditional harem genre anime have male main character surrounded by many female characters, Shugo Chara has cast Amu as the main female character and have several male characters as love interest. Lightblade (talk) 09:37, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

I strongly disagree. Love triangles/polygons are fairly common in anime and manga, especially in the magical girl genre. Because one exists doesn't make the work into a harem manga. On top of that, only two characters have clear romantic interests in Amu, one of which is currently absent from the storyline, with Ikuto as undefined, to add to his mystery. --Farix (Talk) 11:26, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Why no mention of the musical?

I find it odd that there's no mention of the musical in the article. Can we make a section under media and mention members of the cast as well (Yuuka Maeda as Amu for example) I'd add it now, but I don't wanna start a war with someone =D67.249.228.224 (talk) 03:50, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Ulrock7777

Why no mention? Because there isn't a reliable published source for it yet. --Farix (Talk) 11:47, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Doesn't the article/ad for it in Nakayoshi count? It has a website and everything, and includes members of Shugo Chara Egg! as well as KENN, so if it's a joke, then it's a pretty elaborate one67.249.228.224 (talk) 17:30, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Ulrock7777
Kodansha's website has it: http://kc.kodansha.co.jp/shugochara/special/index.html#photo02 Here's the complete cast listing, which may or may not be wrong since no furigana was given for their names and kanji can be transliterated in different manners:
Hope this helps...? Blackarcadia (talk) 02:23, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Ran's egg color

Ran's egg is clearly red with pink highlights. Ran's symbole is also the heart, which is generally associated with the color red. On the cover of volume one, Amu's outfit, which reflects the color of the egg that is displayed along with her, is also red. And finally, pink is in fact a pale red. --Farix (Talk) 01:02, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Infobox image

Instead of changing the images for each season, I suggest adding the first manga cover instead. The only reason I uploaded a new image last year was because it included Diamond, but it appears to have started a pattern. —Farix (t | c) 21:51, 3 October 2009 (UTC) i didn't know where to put this so im just gonna put it here. does anyone ever question why Ikuto's chara is a cat? i mean they are suppose to be there would-be selves. so does that mean he wants to be a cat? or does the creator tryna have fun with it? im confused...
