Template question

Maybe it's just a question of how terminology is used but the infobox for the SOB song shows "song by" before listing the artists who performed it rather than the folks who actually wrote the ditty. Ordinarily, I'd just tweak the box and call it good but, given it's a WP-wide template, it might be appropriate to ask first. If "song by" is ordinarily used to list performers I don't want to tweak something simply because I don't use a phrase the same way as everyone else does. If that's not the case, could someone who has a better handle on how to tweak a template change it so it makes better sense for this instance?
