Rankings outside of A and B Finals
[edit]Is it possible to give a ranking for competitors outside the A and B finals, or not really? Andjam 00:43, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- Definitely possible. See [1]. (Which also shows that Li Ye's disqualification puts him outside all ranking.) Sam Vimes 07:33, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- In short track competitions, skaters are allocated points based on their place in each stage, as follows: 34 for 1st place, 21 for 2nd, 13 for 3rd, 8 for 4th, 5 for 5th, 3 for 6th, 2 for 7th, 1 for 8th. Skaters who reach the finals are ranked by their place in the finals, and the rest are ranked by their total points. If skaters are tied on points, they are ranked by their time in the latest stage they reached. In the Olympics, final B also counts as a final. In case there are less than 8 eligible skaters in the finals, the highest ranked skaters who didn't reach the finals are promoted.--Nitsansh 22:43, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
GB?
[edit]Why is Great Britain counted in the medal tally - unless I miss my guess GB has not won anything in Speed Skating... doktorb | words 06:10, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Short-track 2006.gif
[edit]Image:Short-track 2006.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
