Please do not delete
[edit]I object to the proposed deletion of this article. The subject is a significant figure in the 20th century history and development of aikido and is notable for that. I am trying to improve articles for many of these teachers but it's a long, slow process. Very little was ever published about them even in Japanese, never mind English. I can probably get at least one significant external source up for him in the short term. Himatsu Bushi (talk) 05:39, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
Improvement suggestion
[edit]I have some ideas to improve the article but currently not have the proper copyright/access to:
- Image/Diagram of shizentai — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tamle2nd (talk • contribs) 03:18, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- Image/Diagram of Irimi from his style
- Image/Diagram of Koshinage. Done
- Image/Diagram of sword usage or Nishio using the sword, probably more specifically toward guiding purpose
- Addition of feet alignment (mostly parallel instead of perpendicular in other styles). I am not sure of the origin/approach.
- Addition of Kuzushi (not sure if this is unique to Nishio's style). Not uniquely for Nishio, no addition needed.
- Addition of tsukuri (not sure if this is unique to Nishio's style). Done.
- Nishio's personality from outside perspectives. As far as my reading goes, from his perspective: 1) he is welcoming other students and martial arts; 2) is a communicator for clashing ideas between Saito and Yamaguchi; 3) Not judgmental toward differences of idea; Tamle2nd (talk) 03:04, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
