Question
[edit]Can someone who reads Swedish figure out if this is the same Rabbi Wolbe? --Jayrav 19:38, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Wolbe, W. A. Uppfostran till judendom : föredrag hållna i Beth-Hamidrasch i Stockholm 1940-1944 : femårsskrift utg. av Sällskapet för judisk religiös bildning / [av W. A. Wolbe] Stockholm : Utg., 1945
- Well, did he have a secular name with initials W.A.? Everything else makes sense. - CrazyRussian talk/email 23:48, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
R' Wolbe Vs. R' Moshe Shmuel Shapiro
[edit]Is this going to be an ArtScroll entry, or will we document the dispute between them. I am not familiar with the details, but I always asumed that I'd eventually learn the details about this from wikipedia... GZee 22:16, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's not important. I'm not sure I even know what you are referring to.--רח"ק | Talk | Contribs 23:36, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Whatever the dispute, it needs to be built on reliable sources. If all we have is some angry blog posts, then no, this entry should not mention that dispute. I intensely dislike your characterisation of "Artscroll entry". This is impolite to your fellow contributors. JFW | T@lk 18:17, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Mussar Approach
[edit]I'm going to change the first sentence or so around. I don't think it looks nice to have a link within a header, I'll add the link to the intro to the mussar section. Yossiea 12:58, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- This sentence "He published his first volume of Alei Shur in 1968, which containes his mussar talks on a proper regiments life of a Yeshiva student." doesn't make much sense. I'm not 100% sure what we're trying to convey. Yossiea 13:01, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Some Changes
[edit]I made some grammar changes, added possesive aopostrophes and removed Rabbi (or Rav) from all but the first reference. Yossiea 13:20, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject class rating
[edit]This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 21:13, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Secular Name
[edit]The first paragraph gives his secular name as "Gustav Karl Friedrich Wolbe", and the second paragraph as "August Wilhelm Wolbe". They can't both be correct, can they? Can someone correct the wrong one? --Keeves (talk) 19:50, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- I asked Rav Leuchter about this and he said that he had seen a birth certificate with the name August Wilhelm, I changed the article to reflect this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.229.250.215 (talk) 14:04, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Ben sheshet le-Asor
[edit]His work Ben sheshet le-Asor ("Between [the] Sixth [of] to [the] Tenth [of]"), now renamed "Olam Hayedidus" ...
Are we sure we have enough square brackets there?
More to the point, though, it would be interesting to know just how that "renaming" came about. Was it Rav Wolbe himself who initiated that? (Without knowing more, it somehow seems less than probable.)
