... that Shirongo Matsuri, which sees ama compete to catch abalone, is listed as part of a Japan Heritage "story"?Festival: [1] Japan Heritage: (in Japanese) [2]

- Article is new enough (created on 8 March), long enough, and is within policy. QPQ is confirmed. Now, the hook checks out in all regards but I'm not sure it quite fulfils the "interesting to a broad audience" criterion. The way it's currently phrased, the fact that the festival is included in a Japan Heritage story won't in itself be interesting to a broad audience. Maybe you can make a hook around the "beckoning abalone" part, which struck me as an interesting bit from the article. Alternatively, you could try and phrase the hook in a way that makes it clearer what is meant by "story". Of course, I'm happy to listen if there's something I've missed about the current hook. - Hello, you might be right (though the Japan Heritage programme is very interesting...) How about this ALT, thanks, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 15:08, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- ALT1: ... that Japan's Shirongo Festival sees ama compete to be the first to catch and dedicate to the kami a pair of "beckoning abalone"?
- Thank you for coming up with an alternative so quickly. I'm approving ALT 1 now. Best, Modussiccandi (talk) 15:27, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
