Project Status - Potential Merge

[edit]

I recemt read where the first of these have achieved being declared operational. As the SSC become mature - to many folk will simple be the same as New LCACs. Under that - I propose that at some point both the 2 articles get merged. I have not read - but I suspect will near a 1 to 1 replacement- a a new SSC is fully operational; an existing LCAC will get decommissioned /disposed of /dismantled. This isn't a good idea. These are two different types of hovercraft, with different engines, specs, etc. - BilCat (talk) 00:21, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated?

[edit]

Just saw a couple of these (LCAC 103 and 104) aboard USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28) at her commissioning ceremony in Florida at the end of July, and it also appears that production is slated to maintain a 4 per year delivery schedule (both pieces of information readily verifiable from reputable sources), so perhaps some updating of this article which still seems to be using a lot of future tense wording is in order.
