This article is essentially a translation of the corresponding Japanese Wikipedia entry. Since the original didn't have references, I asked the user who wrote practically the whole thing where he had found all that stuff, and he told me. This is where the references I quote come from. The original still is unreferenced, but one of these days I will add a couple of lines about it (I have an account there too).
Since I didn't write the article and I haven't read the references myself, I am not entirely sure I did the right thing adding references as if I had, but everything I know from other sources (for example Edward Seidensticker's High City, Low City and other entries of Japanese Wikipedia, confirms the content of the article and felt having something about the Shinobazu Pond was too important.

I have recently been to the Shitamachi Museum and tried to locate the pamphlet about Shinobazu Pond all the info in the article supposedly came from. There was none, so I guess this article has next to no references. The info is almost certainly correct. I believe this is a must-have article, so tried to find something on the subject in English or other languages with Google Books Search to provide reliable references, but found nothing. Does anyone have any suggestion? Urashimataro (talk) 13:34, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
