this article passes the notabilibity citerion
[edit]The book in question is regarded as sacred sacripture of tens of millions of Zen devotees in Japan, Korea, China, and Vietnam.0XQ (talk) 13:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- We need to see reliable references demonstrating the notability of the book. Normally I would just look in Google Scholar but this book seems to have many variations of title which makes it harder. Can anybody suggest some examples of serious academics (not fringe figures) covering this book in some depth? Translations and republications are not really enough on their own. --DanielRigal (talk) 20:14, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Quite right. I've prodded it and if necessary will take it to AfD if no reliable sources appear. andy (talk) 22:49, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Nishijima Editions
[edit]Hi there. Master Gudo Wafu Nishijima published a translation of this work as well. As I am a student of one of Nishijima's students, I feel it would be inappropriate for me to add this reference to the article. If someone else feels it a worthy addition, here is the information (formatted like the existing reference):
Gudo Wafu Nishijima (translator & commentator) : Master Dogen's Shinji Shobogenzo : 301 Koan Stories. Windbell Publications Ltd, 2003; and Dogen Sangha Publications, 2009.
