Do we really need to put sources for this article? Its very basic and almost every one who knows the game of hockey and soccer know a lot more about shin guards that tne information written here.

i for once cant get a comprehensive explanation why rear shinpads are rearely worn by midfield soccer players who suffer achilis injuries quite often??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.62.98.145 (talk) 11:22, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

simple, references are needed, and that's final.

According to the intro of this article, it states shin guards are commonly worn in rugby. However, rugby players rarely wear shin guards of any sort and aren't allowed to wear soccer shin guards at all. I do not think it is fair to say that shin guards are "common" in rugby and should instead be removed or distinguish that they are not often used. Perhaps a better solution would be a separate page to rugby shin guards and an explanation of what is and is not allowed. --Ryderstone (talk) 03:30, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
