Summaries for anime episodes
[edit]Mjeims, I'm seeing the summaries posted as descriptions on youtube. It could be that someone's copying Wikipedia or vice versa but if it's the case of the latter, it needs to be rewritten. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:18, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- AngusWOOF, Thank you for helping me with this article. I have written the summaries for the three episodes myself, and have done so for other series as well. I did not copy the summaries from nowhere, and wrote them inmediately after watching each new episode. If you desire, you can watch the edit history of the main article to check for yourself. I assure you the current summaries are valid within the contents shown in each episode, and are all under the recommended threshold of 1250 bytes. However, if you still feel some things feel out of line, go ahead and watch the episodes to make sure the contents on the summaries are correct, as I have tried to do. As such, in the state that it previously was, no information was being omitted, and I will be reverting to that version for the time being. Please do not hesitate to revert any edits that I make that may seem unhelpful. Mjeims (talk) 20:31, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
- Mjeims, okay, it sounds like they're copying your summaries then. That's fine. Also it's not a byte limit, but a word limit (< 200 words) for the MOS for television eisodes. MOS:TVPLOT AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:55, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
honorifics and character names
[edit]Please note that the English manga profiles list the main characters as Shikimori-san, Izumi-kun, and Kamiya-san. Also need a reference to confirm whether it's Yuu or Yu or Yu with the macron. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 23:07, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
- I've updated the description in light of the new information posted on recent chapters. Note that the full given name reveal for Shikimori and Izumi doesn't happen until the last chapters in the entire series (175/176 out of 178, or #172 per pocket magazine web site), so this doesn't supercede the common name (Izumi-kun, Shikimori-san) as attributed to the characters for the anime series or the manga series in general. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 03:52, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
- I formatted the character names like with Nagatoro-san in listing their full name / common name. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 19:15, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Full given names are listed in chapter 176 for both characters. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 01:41, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- Shikimori's full given name is revealed in chapter 175 and then repeated in 176, at which Izumi's given name is presented for the first time. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 18:22, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Per MOS:TVCHAR and MOS:ANIME, use credited and/or common name when referring to the character in a characters list. At this point I have moved the explanation and the manga/anime references to footnotes so as to not further obfuscate. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 18:24, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Full given names are listed in chapter 176 for both characters. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 01:41, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
Revert by Blaze Wolf (December 2023)
[edit]@Blaze Wolf: Excuse me, but how is it that, to paraphrase,
"Izumi and Shikimori are a typical lovey-dovey high school couple, that is, until Izumi clumsily falls into trouble. Then Shikimori turns into a very cool heroine who makes everyone's heart throb." is more "sourced" and "encyclopedically written" compared to: "A high school student, Yuu Izumi, often seems to face accidents and misfortune in life. However, those problems seem to stop happening whenever he spends time with his girlfriend, Micchon Shikimori. Yuu sees Shikimori, a much more popular and self-confident student than himself, as more than just a significant other – he finds her compassionate and protective nature as a key to solving his accident-prone life. The two gradually deepen their love for one another in hopes of making sure Yuu overcomes his unusual life ordeal."
The latter merely draws from the body text as any article lead should, former reads like a one-off streaming service catalogue tagline and the exact opposite of encyclopedic.
If the source itself in the Premise section is the problem that can be easily be added, despite MOS:PLOTSOURCE, even though there are plenty of sources already; that alone does not justify the revert. 109.60.93.211 (talk) 16:09, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi there IP! Taking a look at what you're describing, what you added is much better. Feel free to restore your revision. Usually a premise section is what you have before the relevant media releases which is why I was bothered about the sourcing issue. Really my biggest problem was reading the diff since you had made multiple changes and the diff didn't highlight the overall change all that well. Thanks for bringing this up! ― Blaze WolfTalkblaze__wolf 16:16, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
- All right, apologies for the misunderstanding then. 109.60.93.211 (talk) 23:43, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
