[edit]Coins show that Bayazid ruled concurrently with his predecessor, Hamza in 814 and 815 AH. However, while Hamza's coins were minted in Mu'azzamabad, those of Bayazid are marked Firuzabad. It looks like Hamza and Bayazid contested Bengal among them and Hamza ultimately lost. Reign dates should be adjusted accordingly.

Son or slave?
[edit]This lemma claims that Bayazid was a son of Hamzah. The lemma on Hamzah says that Bayazid was his slave (therefore not a member of the Ilyas dynasty). It seems that the latter version is closer to the truth, but I have no conclusive evidence.
