Surnames

[edit]

The BBC On This Day website gives her second married name as Chesson having remarried in 1991, not her birth name. WillE (talk) 21:57, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A New York Times article says she never used the surname Finkbine, that it was something the press decided to call her. The article gives the impression that Chessen is her birth name. If so, that should be in the lead sentence. "Sherri Chessen, assigned the name 'Sherri Finklebine' by the media" http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/05/a-never-ending-story/?ref=opinion SilverCobweb (talk) 20:35, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is a sloppily written article which does not explain the process nor the implications of this case. Poorly done- very superficial. This was an important, politically charged case which resonates today. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.239.208.32 (talk) 14:15, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
