Spelling
[edit]I suppose this would be शेर्पा गाउँ in Nepal. If so, it means Sherpa Village and the spelling would be Sherpa Gaon (not Goan). —Stephen (talk) 10:33, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Shar-Pho is a Buddhist word which lay peoples using that name from long years ago. Most of the peoples who live nearby village using that name - Shar-Pho. But later on, then Majesty government used Sharpa Gaun instead of Shar-Pho to get easily spot on tourist maps and easy to spell when the Tourism industry flourished around that area especially in Langtang Valley in 1965's.
