Merge proposal

[edit]

I suggested this merge proposal as the Sherman Andrus article concentrates on his time in The Imperials, and I'm not sure that it warrants it's own article. If the articles were merged it would give time for the Sherman Andrus article to receive attention and possibly be spun out at a later date once it has been improved. --Deadly∀ssassin 20:08, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the merge proposal, unless there is more on the subject unrelated to the Imperials. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 20:29, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I intend to devote more time to the Andrus article in time to come but since his career spans such a long breadth of time (1964-present) in gospel music, I feel Andrus warrants his own space. He has been a member of 3 different groups (Andrae Crouch and the Disciples, The Imperials and Andrus, Blackwood and Company, all of which achieved distinction within contemporary Christian music as successful commercial entities, and records to this day. While I agree what is there for Andrus is too small, I think what really needs to happen is more attention given to his article on its own.GBrady (talk) 19:17, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

fair enough. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 21:52, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Still needs lots of work but I did add more detail and cleaned up the citations tonight. Discographical information is proving difficult to obtain..I'll probably need a gospel reference work to help with that. Anyone with knowledge (or a good set of Andrus' records) want to help there? Can someone remove the merge proposal banner? I don't think it's needed anymore. Musdan77 (talk) 18:43, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed "additional citations needed" banner

[edit]

As I cleaned up and added citations to the article, I have removed the banner. If anyone has any issues with the way the citations are formatted please let me know but I believe these should now meet Wikipedia muster. GBrady (talk) 06:43, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
