Shelley Reynolds
[edit]Since the fact that a woman named "Shelley Reynolds" has a nickname of Sheldon does not in fact appear to be relevant, nor cited or notable, I am going to remove it. Justinkrivers (talk) 22:28, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Andrea Reynolds-Plunket & Sherlock Holmes
[edit]Judging by her response to Robert Downey Jr.'s joke about Holmes and Watson being lovers, I suspect she may have won her court case to win the rights to the Holmes Franchise. This should be fixed. Bo-Lingua (talk) 23:41, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
- From what I've read the whole question of the copyrights is still a mess based on a) can you copyright a character who appeared in a corpus of works where some are in the public domain and others are still in copyright; and b) who has what rights from the mess of the Conan Doyle children & their heirs disagreeing.
- A lot of film studios and the like take a cautious approach to disputed rights. After all the film studio wants to make a movie and reap the rewards, not spend years in court cases trying to untangle who owns what. So they often seek permission from and make payments to the claimants, even though neither of these may be legally necessary. This has the effect of perpetuating beliefs in ownership that haven't been properly tested. Timrollpickering (talk) 17:44, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
