Personality

[edit]

The personality section needs some cleanup to remove random spouting of facts, see Wikipedia:Trivia and the Wikipedia:Handling trivia. Some of the paragraphs ,such as the fourth one, are well written using facts in a presentable manner, using plenty(but not too many) links to appropriate articles. Most of the subsections look sufficient, especially "Asperger syndrome". However "Background" could use some expansion and cleanup. Such as incorporating more details about his early life, if any exist. "Characteristics" seems to use too many different examples and occasions that can become difficult to understand.

Family & Work

[edit]

The section on Sheldon's mother needs more references for all the quotes it includes(only one quote is referenced). Some of the "Work" section reads like it was copied from Leonard Hofstadter and switched to Sheldon.

Relationships

[edit]

This section appears to have adequate references. "Friends" seems to focus too much on Howard, although it is referenced it appears to be a biography of Sheldon's relationship with Howard. Although Sheldon's relationship with Penny is complicated it does not seem complicated enough to warrant it's own section. However the references back-up the statements making this work for the situation.

Creation and Casting - References

[edit]

If the name of the inspiration is known and can be referenced, it would add significant value to this section. Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL may be of assistance for this and finding more images to use in the article. "Reception", particularly the first paragraph, needs to be slightly tweaked to adhear to WP:NPOV. Article includes plenty of references. However it could use more 3rd party references. WP:IRS and WP:REF help to identify and clarify this common issue.

Overall, good article, needs some minor tweaks. I will put the article on hold for the standard seven days to allow time for editors to address and correct these concerns. After which I will either pass of fail the article depending on how the progress is progressing. If any of these concerns are found to be in error I am open to editing/ removing a concern.

In my opinion, this should be failed and not placed on hold. After doing a quick glance and read, the prose is not very well written, and there are lots of unsourced content all over the place. I recommend a thorough copyedit and a comprehensive peer review before nominating for GA again. –MuZemike 04:22, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Piggybacking off of what MuZemike said, I don't think that there is really a need to include video game aliases in the article. It just doesn't seem appropriate for Wikipedia. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 04:25, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, this article needs to remove the multiple references of his name within a sentence. If you don't introduce a new person, there is no reason to keep mentioning Sheldon within the paragraph. Honestly, it just makes the reader feel stupid because they are being constantly reminded of something which they already know. I agree that this should be closed though because in the two months that this has been here, nothing major has happened except a review which doesn't address every issue (no offense Sumsum). If you want to get this to GA-status within a few months, I would suggest that you withdraw this and open up a peer review. Feel free to drop by my talk page if you have any questions. I have considered these everyones concerns and failed, tagged the article with copyedit and cleanup, and will submit it for a peer review. Thank you for the assistance on my first GA review! Sumsum2010·T·C 05:12, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
