[edit]So... why is the neutrality of this article disputed? Or did someone just think that would make a fun decoration? Abpolitico (talk) 03:43, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
---exactly why is the neautrality of this article disputed? can a moderator please advise? I found some citations that aren't from the Chumir foundation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samsamcat (talk • contribs) 06:33, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
- Sentences like, "Sheldon Chumir was committed to community service and active leadership on public policy issues, particularly protection of civil liberties and human rights, a strong public education system and fairness for the powerless.", even if true, are hopelessly lacking in WP:NPOV and reliable sources. It sounds like it was written by a worshipful admirer. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:58, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
--- I see what you mean Orangemike, I tried to sterlize the flowerly language for scientific. Also please note he died in the 90's before the internet came out. Data on him is extremely limited. In the near future I will be trying to access this data (only released by his ethics foundation in 2003), as you can imagine scanners didn't exist back then. He has 10 years worth of data from his many social enterprises. But please take a look at this Orange and let us know. I think his actions as a politician can better describe him, but for now all we have is just snippets of info from people who remember him. This is such with literary archelogly, lots of broken fragments that we Wikipedians are trying to crazy glue back together.. That's why we're here. lol. but good point Orange.
--- I think I know why this article was priase.... the orginal poster seem to have taken most of their material directly from the Chumir Foundation's site... word for word.... Plagerized.. copy and pasted.
---could a senior editor make a ruling over the neutrality of this article please? Thank you. -Sammycat
lack of citations and sources
[edit]Wikipedia requires us to use non source materials for our research. That's to say like Chumir's production company "Brimstone" productions website. This is probably because his materials were not scanned, news clippings from the 80's didn't exist during the internet age. I have found sources at the Glenbow museum and archives for a wealth of data. It'll take time for me to sort through the data. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samsamcat (talk • contribs) 07:57, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Chumir photograph
[edit]Only 4 photographs of Sheldon Chumir exist on the internet, a scan of a campaign phamplet and the one where he's sitting on the chair in a scholar pose. I agree this might lake him look agrandized. I have found 34 pictures of him (through archival searches, I will be looking at scanning them eventually perhaps as an archivist volunteer at Glenbow). I hope this photo is not misunderstood, to be promoting him, it's all I could find. Besides I read through the history here, someone tried to post a Campaign photo of Chumir, (likely removed because it failed to provide the credentials). On this noteI have limited premission to use this photo, as I personally asked the trustees of his foundation. I have all legal authority per wikipedia rules. Hopefully in my research I could find less grandiose photos of MLA Chumir.
