Addition of shear force of steel and bolts
[edit]I added this information as I use it often in my workshop to calculate sheer strength of various pieces of steel. I would like to link it to 'Mechanical classification' under the wiki article 'screw', but I am not sure how. Felixandhisthoothbrush (talk) 20:26, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
Misdirected redirect
[edit]Why does force redirect to stress? Stress is caused by force acting on an area, force comes first and then stress. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 22:07, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
alligned, unalligned
[edit]Are these misspellings of aligned and unaligned, or are they different words? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Koro Neil (talk • contribs) 10:25, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Merge with Shear Stress
[edit]Both articles are quite short, and directly related to each other. I know there's a formal way to recommend a merge, but I can't remember it to be honest, sorry.

Equations
[edit]Can we add some equations to the page? I appreciate the problem that was worked out, but base information like Shear force = shear stress * Area (with proper formula symbols and notation) would be extremely helpful and informative. Brrgdw (talk) 06:19, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
