Hi there, my name is Winter, and I'm a first time wiki editor (which you can probably tell )
yousaf465 kindly provided some links to wiki guides. All the guidelines can seem at bit overwhelming at first. Looks like I have some reading to do.
I do have a couple of questions right now: how serious is my "conflict of interest" tag? The article I'm adding is about my wife. What prompted me to add it was finding an article on our friend T. Thorn Coyle, which has an empty link to an article about my wife (Sharon Knight). I'm not trying to use wikipedia to advertise ourselves, and want to be conscientious about following wiki conventions. I've looked at other artists' pages first to get an idea of what is commonly done. Do all articles have to be authored by someone uninvolved with the subject?
My other question concerns notability. Should I even bother getting this right, or is my "subject" so far below the radar that the article will get pulled anyway?
Thanks for your help. Cheers Winter (talk) 04:36, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Winterjps
- Basically, you shouldn't have created this article, and you shouldn't work on it at all. Not only is it about your wife, but you have written about yourself in this article, as well. Articles started by the person's spouse are usually deleted on sight. This is only here because no one seems to have noticed. If the article stays up, you shouldn't work on it anymore unless it's to simply revert blatant vandalism. Sorry, but that's the policy. - CorbieV☊ 21:15, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
@Winterjps: See above and the notice on your talk page. I realize you mean well, but it's against policy for you to create and edit articles about your wife, ex-wife, musical partners and/or friends. Please resepect policy. - CorbieV ☊ ☼ 00:55, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
