For his friendliness and humantarian character, the citation is already there in the body of the article. There are so many people from different parties speaking for him during the obituary reference in the Lok Sabha. Please refer to the section on obituary reference quoted elsewhere in the article. In case it is insufficiant, please advise. Correct Name

The correct name in English is Shankar Dayal Singh not Shankar Dayal Sinha. It will creat a problem in finding the link. Some body has edited it like Shankar Dayal Sinha. I am reverting it. Dr.'Krant'M.L.Verma^{(talk•Email)}Krantmlverma (talk) 06:10, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Lok Sabha Results

Someone had wrongly stated that Sri Shankar Dayal Singh lost twice to Sri Satyendra Narain Singh. In fact he contested just once in 1984 from Aurangabad. So, there is no question of his losing twice to Satyendra Narain Singh, who never contested from any other constituency besides Aurangabad. This fact can be verified from the Election Commission of India's website. In 1980 Sri Sidhanath Singh had contested and lost to Satyendra Narain Singh (See http://eci.nic.in/eci_main/StatisticalReports/LS_1980/Vol_II_LS_80.pdf for details). Then Sri Shankar dayal Singh had contested from Koderma (See http://eci.nic.in/eci_main/StatisticalReports/LS_1980/Vol_I_LS_80.pdf) and lost to Sri Reetlal Prasad Verma. I am correcting it. • It has been mentioned here that He founded the B.D. College, Patna and the S.N. Sinha Institute of Journalism and Library Science. However, The official website of BD College ,Patna (http://www.bdecpatna.org/aboutus.htm%7C B D College,Patna) says that It has been been established in the year 1970 by Late. Bhubneshwari Dayal,Late Dr. Baidnath Pandey, Dr. Nirmal Kr. Srivastava and Pran Mohan Parvatiyar had laid the foundation stone of this college. and there is no mention of the Shri Shankar Dayal Singh Ji.If that is not the college being mentioned here in the article,provide the name of the college.Also,even after exhaustive search all over the web,we found no mention of S.N. Sinha Institute of Journalism and Library Science,Patna

anywhere.If there is some website of the institute or information source,provide the link for the same and mention or if its is known by some other name;kindly update the same.

Thanks for bringing this to our notice. Although we do make it a point to put in verifiable facts that are accessible online, at times this is not possible since most of the contents in vernacular are still not on the web. Nevertheless, please be informed that Dr. Shankar Dayal Singh was the founder-secretary of B.D. College (erstwhile B.D. Evening College) and the college has named its library "Dr. Shankar Dayal Singh Memorial Library" in his honor. Please refer to the photo gallery of the collage at http://bdecpatna.org/index.php. However, you are right to point out that the name of Dr. Shankar Dayal Singh (as its Secretary / Founder Secretary) has not been mentioned on the website, but can be verified from the records of the college. We thank you for bringing this to our notice. Dr. Shankar Dayal Singh indeed was was not the founder secretary, but had taken the post from Sh. P.M. Parvatiyar. We have also deleted the mention of S.N. Sinha Institute since it really did not add much to the overall profile. Biography or eulogy?

I was drawn to read this article by the request for a review. It seems to me to need wikifying. It has too many peacock adjectives - eminent, brilliant, exceptional, important, extraordinary - and why two identical large photographs? I am prepared to believe he was a great man, the article says so over and over again, but the reason for his greatness is not clear. I look to the lead section to tell me. It tells me that he was twice elected to the Indian Parliament. Does that explain why he was so greatly admired and loved and a section of road was named after him? Or why the review request asked that the article should be rated of high importance?

The editor parijat.delhi is to be complemented for the considerable hard work put into expanding the article. I would like the lead to indicate the reason for Shankar Dayal Singh's notability. It must surely be something much more than being elected to the Indian Parliament. Then the whole article needs to be written in a more modest biographical style. Bad ISBN

I have tried unsuccessfully to locate the correct ISBN on the Internet. If we had the title in its original Hindi characters, we could more easily find the correct ISBN.
