Recent edits
[edit]The recent edits to this article that considerably increase the size of the second paragraph have several problems. It is largely unsourced. It needs wikifying. It contains many peacock words - "crushing land slide", "high water mark", etc. It contains errors. For example that election was not the "high water mark" as the CLP won 19 out of 25 in 1980 and in the first election afer self-government the ALP won no seats. However the greatest concern is that it reads like a direct copy from somewhere and thus may be a copyright violation. For that reason, I am not fixing it, as leaving it as it is will help to find any such copy. Please help to check this. --Bduke (Discussion) 23:44, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- Wikirectifier has just removed all content from this article, and I have subsequently restored it. A look at User talk:Wikirectifier will give some idea of Wikirectifier's motivation. (It would be unfair for me to attempt to paraphrase it here.) HiLo48 (talk) 02:15, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks HiLo48, I've restored the last version prior to Wikirectifier's edits; not at all sure what is going on here, and my edit should be taken as a "set it back the way it was then figure out what to do" move rather than any opinion on content. There's probably good stuff in there but it should start from the presumption of not being in and can be readded by Wikipedian editors. Orderinchaos 06:13, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Birth place
[edit]We say Wodonga. The 2001 edition of Who's Who in Australia (the most recent edition in my local library) says he was born in Bendigo. I know he went to school in Wodonga and Albury (he was in my primary school class for a while), so maybe someone's just assumed he was born in Wodonga as well. Most of the article is unsourced. Does anyone have access to a more recent Whos' Who? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 02:15, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- The online version (accessible by password), which I believe is equivalent to the latest edition, says Bendigo too. I'd say go ahead and change it. Frickeg (talk) 02:57, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
